Metabolic: Newborn screening is the practice of testing every newborn for certain harmful or potentially fatal disorders that aren't otherwise apparent at birth like metabolic disorders. Early diagnosis of metabolic disorders is important for treatment.
Babol Razi Pathobiology and genetic laboratory with its advanced equipment in metabolic department and well-experienced personnel in this department is also a pioneer in metabolic newborn screening.
This department launched in 2013 and is located on the fourth floor of the laboratory. In addition to Screening tests, Confirmation tests (amino acids disorder by HPLC, Organic acids disorder by GC/MS and fatty acid disorders by LC/MS 8035) are done in Metabolic department of Razi Laboratory.
